Basic hygiene for training!
One of the things about training in combat sports is that there is always close contact with one another and with that we need to make sure we are good teammates! Below is a list of the major things before coming to training and after you are done! We clean the mats and borrowed gear every day, multiple times a day, but we can’t take care of your hygiene for you!
Pre-Training
- Make sure you have clean equipment - Sanitized hand wraps, shin pads, gloves, fresh shorts rash guards ect. Often this is the number 1 spread of bacteria!
- Cut and filed fingernails! One of the most common things we see are small cuts on the hands or neck from nails, which could also lead to infection if not treated properly
- Shower, deodorant, brush your teeth etc.. We are very close when training, so you want your partner to feel comfortable!
Post-Training
- Shower as soon as you can!
- Wash your training gear as soon as possible - Gloves, Shin Pads, Rash guards and wraps!
- Make sure to disinfect any cuts you may receive from someone’s nails
